DIY: Embroidering Our Phone Cables!
Hey Guys!
Welcome Back!
Today's post is the first one of its kind... a DIY!
We'll be embroidering our phone cables! You can do this DIY on any kind of cable, but I chose to do it on my IPhone charging cable. Earbuds also look very cool all decked out in embroidery!
This DIY is great looking, but it also has it's technical advantages, such as less tangles and being able to quickly identify your cable!
This project is super simple. All you need is scissors and tape to hold the cable still, embroidery floss (I got mine at Walmart in the craft section) and, obviously, a cable.
Alright, let's get started!
First, tape it down onto something, as you can see below.
Next, take your floss and go to the top of your cable and tie a single-loop knot.
Once you have your knot, take the embroidery floss and form it into the shape of a number 4 with the floss laying on top of the cable.
Then, take the floss and go under and through the triangle of the 4 and pull until it's tight.
While it's still taut, push it up the cord until it reaches the knot you started with.
Continue this pattern until you want to change colors. To change colors, begin the new color over the tail of the old one. Then repeat the steps over again with the new color. You can trim off the extra floss with scissors.😉
And that's all there is to it! Pretty easy, right? This is a great project to do while listening to music or watching TV. I hope you enjoyed my first DIY!
How'd yours turn out?! Tell me in the comments below! I love to hear from my readers!
