My Satchel - Phase One

Hey Guys!

I'm back and ready to talk about ParsonsxTeenVogue Certificate in Industry Essentials Course 3 Assignment 6.

For this assignment, we were to create a mockup of a bag that we designed. Mockups are an inexpensive, taped together, rough draft of a project, in this case a bag. Its purpose is to help the designer figure out snaps and closures and the production instructions for the factory or sample room. I used light cardstock and created a satchel. It has a flap that will be secured by a gold magnetic closure in the finished version. It also has four pockets. They're on the outside front, the outside back, the inside front, and the inside back. The outside front pocket, which will have my name embroidered on it, is for small items such as bobby pins. It will have a gold magnetic closure, too. The outside back pocket (also with a gold magnetic closure) is more secretive and is good for loo se change and receipts - anything that you may need to get to quickly. The inside front pocket is great for any type of phone. It's about 6 1/2 inches wide and 4 inches deep. The back inside pocket is bigger and good for backup makeup and any loose jewelry. It could also be used as a wallet or sunglasses pouch - or both!

We were supposed to create the bag mockup and then create a pricing chart (included below) on how much everything would cost. With the assignment before, we were to go to a fabric store and get a minimum of 3 different fabric swatches or photographs. In this assignment, we were to use these fabrics in our pricing chart.😄
